Homemade Bread. . . Is it really important?

Why go to all the trouble to make your own bread? Here’s why I do…
Potassium Bromate.
Potassium Bromate is an additive used to increase volume in some white flour, breads, and rolls. Potassium bromate is known to cause cancer in animals. Even small amounts in bread can create problems for humans. It is found in store-bought breads.
Also, if you are not reading the labels on the breads you are buying then you are probably getting extra doses of sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS).
I make my own bread and I’ve been experimenting with different recipes; however I love my go-to Oatmeal Honey Bread because it is so delicious, no refined sugar and its easy! NO second rise for the dough, just one! The best part about it…. It only has a 1/2 cup of raw honey in 2 loaves! This bread is simple, and my girls love it. I’ve added cinnamon to it and it is delicious with it (or without) too! I have also used pure maple syrup instead of honey (if you have a baby under 1, as honey is not recommended).
If you go local, ask your bakery what they use in the dough to preserve it. It is that simple!!
Remember, even the breads that label “No HFCS” or “No Preservatives” can still find ways to sneak this in the dough! Tricky!
Give our MRL “potassium bromate- free” and “preservative free” Oatmeal Honey Bread, a try!
