"To Odor or not to Deodor?"

To "Odor or Not?". . .That is the question.

"UM... THIS IS MY NEW NATURAL DEORDORANT, DO I STINK?" This was my common question to my husband when I switched to a natural deodorant. Thankfully... I've found a few good ones that work for me and I'm B.O.- free and sticking with a natural one for life!

Conventional deodorants and anti-perspirants use an aluminum compound as the active ingredient, go ahead check out yours... Dove’s active ingredient is ALUMINUM ZIRCONIUM TETRACHLOROHYDREX GLYCINE COMPLEX. And where are we putting this lovely compound every day if not multiple times? Our gland-laden arm pits!

Why is this conventional deodorant bad?

Some studies have shown there to be a link between aluminum and Alzheimer’s and possibly some forms of breast cancers.
It’s true that all the research is not conclusive but it does suggest a possible link, and do you want to be the one to find out the link was true?!
Deodorants are also laden with hormone disrupting chemicals like parabens and phthalates which mimic estrogen and are linked to a other health issues. To name a few: early puberty in girls, premature delivery, impaired sperm quality and sperm damage in men, genital defects and reduced testosterone production in boys, genital defects and testicular cancer. Finally, studies are now showing that phthalates are linked to obesity.
Studies show research is typically inconclusive or a “maybe” BUT Mama, do you want to find out the hard way? I switched when my husband, who is an engineer in metalurgy, voiced some concerns regarding the aluminum. These toxic chemicals are being applied to our underarms every day, if not multiple times. That’s a lot of exposure to chemicals that may very well cause some serious health issues.

LaVanilla Natural Deodorant (Amazon.com and its a Prime item for free shipping!) I like both the Vanilla and the Lavender scents. I think the Vanilla smells a little better! I do reapply this two times a day but it still lasts about as long as past deordorants or anti-P's.

Nature's Gate is a favorite of Briana's, she uses the Winter Clean (which is unscented) and her husband uses the Summer Spice which is very similar to Old Spice in scent! (Found on Amazon.com)
