Throw the idea of perfect eating out the window!

Once you get going in this cleaner eating/organic lifestyle, it is sometimes tempting to go overboard with it. Being restrictive and wanting to do it 100%. Don’t beat yourself up about it; it’s hard not to when you read about all the icky things in our food and want to eat the very best and healthiest options.
But we live in the real world, and real life doesn’t necessarily allow for this to happen. In order to stick with this lifestyle, you also have to accept that you will sometimes have to eat things that aren’t perfect, but better.
Think about it, what’s better? My pizza recipe (click HERE) which features homemade crust and sauce and several organic toppings—or a delivery pizza that offers none of those things?

Or maybe you live very rural like Sarah, and have a limited selection at your grocery store and you don’t even have certain organic options! This has been a big struggle for her, but because of it she has made it a goal to get the best from what she has to choose from. It’s not always about having that USDA label, because you can still compare brands and buy the one that has less sugar, no MSG, or at least fewer ingredients!
YOU are the only one who can decide how far you want to take this. Some of you may only choose to purchase the Dirty Dozen organic, and everything else you will buy the same as you always have. And that’s great! Every little change counts for the better. Others of you will end up eating 70% or more clean/organic and will greatly alter your style of eating and food purchasing, and that’s wonderful too!
What matters is that however far you take this, it’s a step in the right direction. Even one changed food item is something better that you’re putting into your body! Don’t compare yourself to what others are doing, because only you know what’s right for you and your family.
Let us inform you about all the options, and with that knowledge you can then decide the best plan of action for YOU! ~Briana
