MRL is comitted to the TRUTH, regarding food and a Mama's life. No Disguises here Mamas!

We want to share some truths with you that we've found - that have enriched our knowledge and helped us make the switch over to better nutritious food options and living a healthier life!
Instead they have:
Political agendas (Just look at Monsanto and how much they spend in lobbying their agendas! Especially in Colorado and Oregon with the GMO labeling battle. You can Google this for yourself!) Money: ie they have obligations to make profits for stockholders
Mamas must look at the marketing techniques! A personal example: my 2 year old daughter loves to grab exciting, colorful boxes or bags with fun logos off the shelves at the grocery store! Companies may spend more on marketing (for profits sake) than what is inside--- for our health. . . Truth #2: Organic foods are better for you AND the environment
Commercial farming methods deplete the soil. Pesticides don't "rinse off", they are in the soil, so they are in the food! They create a toxic burden on the body, and they affect our little peoples' bodies even more so than our own. Check out what the EPA says about this and our children:
http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/food/pest.htm Truth #3: We need a mindset shift in how we look at the cost of organic nutritious food.
The USA spends less on food per household than many developed countries AND impoverished ones. Why? Processed foods = CHEAP to produce! But not nutritious!
Truth #4: Living foods from the garden or local farms (farmers markets) taste "alive"!
Crack a farm fresh egg (or an organic free range) next to a non-organic store bought egg.... you will see a difference in the yolk sizes. You will see variation in farm eggs and no variation in store bought. Physically look at the outside of the eggs from the farm vs the store! They look different! Variety = health! Variety is natures intended path! Truth # 5: Mamas' sanity matters: Moms have feelings, hopes, dreams and needs too!
So, guard your happy place and time! Is it your half hour before the kids get up and the morning pandemonium begins?! Is it your gym time? Your run or walk outside?! How about you set boundaries in your life around this area to ensure your sanity secured. Suggestions: Hire a babysitter or trade babysitting time with another mom for your sanity time! Make bedtimes (for kids and yourself!) earlier! Make cleaning schedules, or a cleaning service! Make chore charts for the kids to help out around the house (its a win win as they can earn an allowance for jobs completed and you can save some cleaning time!). Guard your sanity time Mama. We all know the saying, "if Mama ain't happy, then Nobody's happy!" Truth #6: Every time we eat we are either perpetuating disease(toxic burdens) or we are fighting it.
Pay the organic farmer or pay the doctor..... Truth #7: By starting eating healthy today and being consistent in small changes it will yield big results!
10% is better than 0%.
Give some today, because it will be worth it tomorrow, you will find motivation when you get up and go. Truth #8: No DIET can do what HEALTHY EATING and LIFESTYLE DOES!
5 months of following a new way of eating for me yielded 15 pounds off my body! Truth: small consistent changes =big results. Where will I be in 5 more months?! Further in my health and body composition goals. It's exciting. It's not a dreaded diet, it's a loving-life, lifestyle. A responsible lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle. Truth #9: Truth sets us free.
Our truths at MRL are based on what is in the food, what we feed our families and how we can make better choices. Might this truth free us from cancer and disease? Possibly, but I don't want my family or myself to be a test subject on this matter!! Truth #10: Changing one thing in your nutrition (such as switching to organic spinach and lettuce, making a commitment to follow the dirty dozen vs. clean 15 guidelines) is huge!
Is not giving 10% moving you and your family in the right direction? 10% is better than 0%.
Start today Mama! Knowing the truth is taking responsibility.
Your MRL Mama,
~Sarah
