The Better Alternative to Pizza Lunchables...

...There are many Mamas!!!

Here's a way to simplify your decision making process--- a PARAGRAPH of ingredients means NO, just NO Mama.

Pizza crust, cheese, pepperoni, pizza sauce, cheese crackers,

chocolate chip cookies, water bottle, kool aid powder

At least a paragraph of ingredients, 26 g of sugar, 470 calories, 880 mg sodium, 60 carbs, 40% of daily fat... There is so much packaging and no vegetables. Do you really want your kids to eat these?

My sister made her first MRL comittment to change because she was visiting her daughter during lunch. She had sent one of these for that day because, well her daughter likes them and it was what she asked for. When sitting at the lunch table with her little girl, she flipped the lunchable over... something we had discussed doing (looking at ingredients, being a MRL!) She had a moment of truth... WOW! I do not want to feed this to my baby ever again!

So she didnt. She took the MRL challenge and made her own "pizza lunchable." She bought healthy sprouted tortilla shells, spread a thin layer of pizza sauce, white cheese and pepperoni slices (well... pepperoni is not great but better than the lunchable!). She sent a plain mini bag of Lays potato chips (less than 5 ingredients) and an organic individual milk carton. SO many reasons why her homemade lunch is better !!!! Sugar, carbs, processed garbage -free, less less less INGREDIENTS! Less chemicals! MORE taste. Even though some veggies would be great to add here, at least she made improvements, way to go Mary!

If Mary can take something her daughter loves and give it a recipe rehab using MRL techniquies --- so can you.

How can you makeover your child's lunch favorites like Mary did? ~Sarah
