It is ten years since a partnership between Aston Martin and Prodrive, saw the creation of Aston Martin Racing and the marque’s full scale return to international motorsport.
The DBR9 made its international race debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2005. The car had only been testing for three months, yet, despite this, the team took victory.
The team returned to the UK and the RAC Tourist Trophy at Silverstone in May, taking a second consecutive victory with a one/two finish. Buoyed by this success, two DBR9s tackled the most important race of the season, the Le Mans 24 Hours. For two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006, Aston Martin Racing led the race into the final few hours, but mechanical issues were to thwart victory and in both years the team had to settle for podiums.
In 2007, Aston Martin Racing took a class win at Le Mans with the DBR9. The team followed this up in 2008 with a second successive GT1 class win, this time in the iconic colours of Gulf Oil.
In 2009 Aston Martin Racing developed its first LMP1 car, Aston Martin DBR1-2. The car won on its debut and went on to win the Le Mans Series title as well as being the leading petrol powered car at Le Mans.
In 2012, Aston Martin Racing returned to GT racing and launched the Vantage GTE. After winning the final round of the new FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) that year, the team went on to dominate the championship in 2013, winning nine out of 16 races, however reliability issues in the final race meant it just missed out on the coveted manufacturers' crown. Even so, the team won its first world title securing the FIA WEC GTE Am Drivers' title.
In 2014 Aston Martin Racing took its fourth title at Le Mans winning the GTE Am class with the Vantage GTE and has now secured both the drivers' and teams' titles in the WEC Am class.

OUR CARS
The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 is the most popular GT4 car in the world. More than100 cars have been made and are competing in race series across the globe.
Like the Vantage GT3 and Vantage GTE, the car's foundation is the acclaimed Vantage road car and it carries over the same chassis, V8 powertrain and drive train, including the semi automatic sports shift system. The springs and dampers are upgraded to racing specification with stiffened front and rear anti-roll bars and the option for rose-jointed wishbones.
Safety is paramount on the Vantage GT4. The car has the same FIA-approved roll cage as found on the entire range of Aston Martin Racing cars, while the interior has been stripped with a centrally mounted bagged fuel tank which aids better weight distribution and comes with twin quick fill entries in the rear quarter-lights.
This latest spec of car has a new aerodynamic package. An adjustable carbon fibre rear wing works in conjunction with a larger front splitter to increase downforce for greater dynamic performance.
With nearly 300 kg shaved off the weight of the car and with more than 400 bhp available the Vantage GT4 is the perfect entry to GT racing.

GT4 SPECIFICATION

GT3 SPECIFICATION
The Vantage GT3 has been designed from the ground up to offer customers the latest in race-car technology and embraces all the experience Aston Martin Racing has learnt from years of engineering and competing in international sports car racing with the DBR9, DBRS9 and the latest Vantage GTE.
The Vantage GT3 has a modified version of Aston Martin’s production 6.0 litre V12 engine. The dry-sumped engine produces more than 600 bhp with 700 Nm of torque and its position has been optimised further to improve weight balance. Thanks to this built-in level of performance and the performance balancing in this class, the Vantage GT3 does not require expensive yearly upgrades to maintain its competitiveness.
A carbon fibre propshaft mates the engine to an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission with semi-automatic paddle shift gear change.
Like all Aston Martin racing cars, the Vantage GT3 uses the Vantage road car's bonded aluminium chassis to create a light and stiff structure. This combined with a shorter wheelbase and lower engine position contribute to enhanced handling and performance. Driveability is enhanced further with the latest race-developed ABS and traction control systems, which are fitted as standard. As such, the gap between pro and am drivers is substantially reduced.
Most dramatic of all are the aerodynamics, which contribute to a muscular and purposeful stance, while maintaining the beauty of the V12 Vantage.
The Vantage GT3 is eligible for numerous race series around the world, including the ADAC GT Masters, Nürburgring VLN, Blancpain Endurance Series, British GT, Japanese Super GT, Malaysian Super Series, Asian Le Mans Series, European Le Mans Series, Brazilian Endurance Belcar, Open GT and Pirelli World Challenge among others.

GTE SPECIFICATION
The Aston Martin Vantage GTE's foundation is the V8 Vantage road car. The Vantage GTE uses the very same aluminium chassis as the road car and the core of its engine, the cylinder block, cylinder heads and crank shaft.
There are minimum weight limits in sports car racing and for the GTE class it is 1245 kg, around 400 kg less than the road car. Significant weight is saved in the bodywork where carbon fibre panels replace the already lightweight aluminium in the road car. The interior of the car is also stripped as items like electrically-controlled leather seats, in-car entertainment and sound proofing are not needed.
The overall shape and silhouette of the car has to remain the same under the regulations, however aerodynamics are crucial in enhancing performance. The GTE has a large rear wing and front splitter protruding from the bumper to help force the car on to the track at high speeds, enabling it to corner much faster.
